MOSCOW, 24 Mar - RIA Novosti. After the destruction of the Kavkazskaya oil pumping station as a result of a Ukrainian UAV strike, oil transportation through it to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium system will be impossible in the foreseeable future, the consortium said.

The Kropotkinskaya the Caspian Pipeline Consortium oil pumping station was attacked by Ukrainian UAVs in February. In March, the Kavkazskaya oil refinery was attacked, it does not belong to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, but oil was transshipped through it through a connecting pipeline to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium pipeline system. On the night of March 24, the Kiev regime carried out a second attack on Kropotkinskaya.

"After the shutdown of the Kropotkinskaya as a result of the Ukrainian UAV strike, the volume of estimated transportation from this point was reduced for a year, and after the destruction of the Kavkazskaya, it will be impossible in the foreseeable future.  The Caspian Pipeline Consortium is currently continuing restoration work at the Kropotkinskaya," the consortium said.

Shippers delivered at least 130,000 tons of oil per month through the Kavkazskaya station to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium pipeline system. In 2024, the volume of accepted raw materials amounted to about 1.51 million tons. As previously reported by Transneft, the plan for 2025 has been adjusted to 1.13 million tons.

The Caspian Pipeline Consortium oil pipeline system is the largest route for transporting oil from the Caspian region to world markets and the main route for Kazakhstan, accounting for more than 80% of the country's exports. The 1.5 thousand kilometer pipeline connects the fields of Western Kazakhstan with the Black Sea coast, where oil is shipped to tankers through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium marine terminal. The consortium's largest shareholders include Russia (through Transneft), Kazakhstan (through Kazmunaygas), Chevron, Lukoil, ExxonMobil, Rosneft and Shell joint ventures.
